Did Monet use pointillism?

Monet did not use pointillism in his paintings. Pointillism is a painting technique where small dots of color are applied to the canvas in order to create the illusion of a continuous image when viewed from a distance. While Monet was an important figure in the development of Impressionism, a movement that emphasized the use of loose brushstrokes and the depiction of light and color, he did not employ the meticulous dotting technique associated with pointillism.Although Monet did not use pointillism, his innovative approach to capturing the effects of light and his use of broken brushwork had a significant influence on the pointillist painters who emerged later. He experimented with short brushstrokes and vibrant colors, which were techniques later adopted and refined by artists like Georges Seurat and Paul Signac. Monet's ability to capture the transient nature of light and atmosphere in his paintings laid the foundation for the development of pointillism as a distinct style. While not a pointillist himself, Monet's unique artistic vision and contribution to the art world cannot be underestimated.
