Loki: Why is the TVA in danger of collapsing?
In Loki Season 2, Episode 3, titled "Victor Timely's Introduction Kicks Everything Into High Gear," the TVA faces several challenges. The episode takes us back to 1893 in Chicago during the World Fair, where we meet a variant of Kang called Victor Timely. Victor is portrayed as a con man who swindles others with his creations. Loki and Mobius chase after Victor in order to get his temporal aura scanned, but they are intercepted by Sylvie, who is on a mission to kill all the Kang variants. Victor manages to escape with Ravonna and Miss Minutes. One of the challenges the TVA faces in this episode is dealing with the growing branches on the Sacred Timeline. Despite Dox's pruning of the branches, they are growing back rapidly, and the loom in the TVA is unable to handle the influx. O.B., the technician, cannot make the necessary repairs or widen the diameter of the loom without He Who Remains' temporal aura. The TVA needs Miss Minutes to override the security measures and fix the situation.Another challenge is the introduction of Victor Timely as a new variant of Kang. Victor is portrayed as a more timid and less evil version of Kang. He is a curious man who wants to change the world with his inventions. However, his true intentions and potential alignment with the TVA remain uncertain. There is a risk that exposing him to the technology and power of the TVA could turn him into something the TVA doesn't want him to become.Additionally, the TVA faces challenges with Miss Minutes, the AI clock. It is revealed that Miss Minutes is not just a helpful assistant but has deeper feelings and motivations. She is in love with He Who Remains and is jealous of Ravonna's closeness to Victor. Miss Minutes reveals her desire for a full body so she can truly lead alongside He Who Remains. Her actions and motivations add a layer of complexity to the TVA's operations.Furthermore, the TVA is confronted with the internal conflict between Loki, Sylvie, and Mobius. Sylvie is determined to kill Victor, seeing him as just another variant of Kang and a tool of the TVA. On the other hand, Loki and Mobius believe that Victor's temporal aura is crucial for fixing the timeline. The differing perspectives and goals of these characters create challenges for the TVA in managing their conflicting interests and ensuring the stability of the timeline.Overall, Episode 3 of Loki's second season presents the TVA with challenges in managing the growing branches on the Sacred Timeline, dealing with the introduction of Victor Timely as a new variant of Kang, navigating Miss Minutes' complex motivations, and addressing the conflict between Loki, Sylvie, and Mobius. These challenges test the TVA's ability to maintain order and control over the multiverse.
