Loki: Who is Victor Timely?

In Loki Season 2, Episode 3, viewers are introduced to a new character named Victor Timely, played by Jonathan Majors. Victor Timely is a variant of Kang, but unlike the Kang variants we have seen before, he is rather timid and not the evil mastermind one would expect. He is portrayed as a con man who swindles others with his creations. In the episode, Loki and Mobius chase after Victor in order to take him back to the TVA to get his temporal aura scanned. However, they are intercepted by Sylvie, who has promised to kill all the Kang variants. Sylvie and Victor have a showdown at his lab, but Sylvie realizes that Victor is not like the other Kang variants and cannot bring herself to kill him. She lets Loki and Mobius take him away while she kicks Ravonna to the End of Time.Victor's introduction in this episode brings a new dynamic to the story. He is portrayed as a human with a bit of a stutter and a nerdy personality. This shift in personality shows that variants can be vastly different from each other. While Victor may not be as conniving or domineering as Kang, he still possesses shades of ambition, deceitfulness, and detachment. It is unclear where his character will ultimately land by the end of the season.Another interesting aspect of the episode is the development of Miss Minutes' character. It is revealed that Miss Minutes is not just an AI tasked with running the TVA, but she also has feelings for He Who Remains, the previous Kang variant. Miss Minutes displays jealousy when Ravonna gets closer to Victor, and her motivations become clear. She is in love with He Who Remains and desires a full body to lead beside him. This twist gives Miss Minutes her own personality and motivations, making her a key player in the season.Episode 3 takes viewers back to 1893 in Chicago during the World Fair. The setting is beautifully depicted, thanks to the production design by Kasra Farahani. From the costuming to the setting, everything immerses viewers in the rich past of that time. The episode also fills in some narrative gaps, revealing what Miss Minutes and Ravonna have been up to and further adding to the complexity of the story. Now that Victor is in the hands of the TVA, the possibilities for his character are endless. While he may seem nice enough, exposing a Kang variant to the technology of the future could potentially turn him into something unexpected. The mystery surrounding Victor Timely and his role in the grand scheme of the show leaves viewers eager to see how his character develops in future episodes.Overall, Episode 3 of Loki Season 2 successfully introduces Victor Timely and adds new layers to the story. With Jonathan Majors' compelling portrayal of the character, viewers are left intrigued and curious about the direction his character will take. As the season unfolds, it will be fascinating to see how Victor Timely fits into the larger narrative of the MCU and how his relationship with the other characters evolves.
