Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes: What happens to Snow and Lucy after the Hunger Games?

After the events of The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, Coriolanus Snow and Lucy Gray Baird's lives take divergent paths. Instead of accepting a position in the Officers Training Academy offered to him for his information on Sejanus, Snow decides to join Lucy on her escape. However, as they journey together, Snow's true nature begins to emerge. He stumbles upon the buried guns used to murder the Mayor's daughter and contemplates using the evidence to destroy any memory of his crimes and regain his family's honor.Caught in a moment of betrayal, Snow struggles to hide his change of heart. Sensing his behavior, Lucy assumes Snow is planning to leave her and flees into the forest. In a moment of desperation and uncertainty, Snow shoots into the trees in an attempt to kill her. Uncertain of whether he struck her or not, Snow disposes of the guns and returns to District 12. He is then transported back to the Capitol, where he meets with Dr. Gaul, who praises him for his information on the rebellion.
